- An introduction to the basic beliefs and practices of Wicca. A pagan earth religion, Wicca has only come into the public eye approximately 50 years ago. Whether merely curious of what Wicca is, or pursuing serious study of religion, this course is a good place to start. It covers basic beliefs, such as the Goddess and the God, reincarnation, and magick. We will discuss creating a Book of Shadows, taking magickal names, as well as the next step on the Wiccan path. If a student chooses, the end of the semester concludes in a simple self-dedication ritual, however this is not required to move into the next class.
If you feel that you have the necessary understanding of basic beliefs and practices, and would like to move into Wicca 2, fill out a Request to Bypass Wicca 1 form during your enrollment.
